This group mentoring program guides you in translating your unique 2D artistic style into the 3D world using RenderMan Stylized Looks. In six online sessions, we explore how to reimagine line art, cel shading, hatching, and painterly effects directly within the render, blending artistic intuition with cutting-edge rendering technology.

It’s the ultimate crash course in stylized rendering, ideal for anyone who wants to boost their portfolio, expand their skills, and gain a deeper understanding of stylization in 3D. Perfect for students, freelancers, and aspiring studio artists who want to prepare for work in animation studios specialized in stylization.

You’ll learn how to bring your own 2D artwork or visual references into 3D and reconstruct your aesthetics using DisplayFilters, AOVs, and StylizedControl nodes. Each session focuses on a key stylization technique, building toward a final animated artwork that feels hand-crafted yet is rendered in 3D. By the end of the program, you have developed your own project and receive one hour of individual feedback to refine your style.

RenderMan’s Stylized system is consistent across multiple DCCs, allowing us to apply the same core concepts in different environments. By the end, you’ll not only understand how to reproduce your 2D visual language in 3D, but also how to craft expressive, illustrative, and painterly renders that bridge the gap between technology and art.
